Congratulations to Tracey and Jay! These two are SO full of joy and I loved every moment of their elegant Kennedy Center engagement session. It was the perfect spot to tell this part of their love story and I loved getting to know them through their photos. I can’t wait for you to see them!
Their Love Story
Tracey and Jay met through Bumble. Both decided to just try the app and go for it – what did they have to lose? In fact, they had everything to gain! After meeting for coffee for their first date, they met up a year later for their second date at the Kennedy Center to see the Hamiltones. So, of course, I LOVE that they chose to have their portraits here.
When Jay proposed, Tracey wasn’t sure if he was serious or not. They were watching All-American and he pulled a wrapped box out of his pocket then asked her to marry him. She didn’t think he was serious and actually asked if he was. After she unwrapped the box, she realized it was in fact a ring box and then Jay got down on one knee. There was no confusion then! I loved hearing them tell me this story – it is just SO them.
Kennedy Center Engagement Session
Since DC and the Kennedy Center played a part in their love story, it made sense to have their engagement session here. I loved being able to explore the balcony and small garden out front. Tracey looked stunning in her formal teal gown and it was the perfect pop of color against all of the white and ivory stone at the Kennedy Center. In fact, they both looked great! Although they told me they were nervous about their session, Tracey and Jay were both amazing. They had so much fun, laughing and being together. It was just perfect – I swear they were like models right in front of me.
If I’m being honesty, when I think of Tracey and Jay, the word that comes to mind is “joy”. I hope they’re always this full of joy and happiness together! Congratulations again, you two!!!
