Meet Kadidra and Taz! These two wonderful people are getting married in October and we recently celebrated their engagement with a Fort Washington Park engagement session. Although we started out with some rough weather, their session turned out so beautifully! And I’m so excited to be sharing it with you today!!
Their Love Story
Kadidra and Taz met at a Memorial Day party in 2017 and decided to become Facebook friends. That was all – or so they thought! Soon after, they discovered that one of Taz’s good friends from graduate school is Kadidra’s cousin!! A few months later, they reconnected at a happy hour event/backpack drive for ACC school alumni in DC. They were both there for different reasons, but it was like it was meant to be! Taz kept referring to Kadidra as “cuz”, so it took her awhile to realize who he was – but finally she did! Not long after, they went on their first official date. And then, on New Year’s Eve last year, everything changed!
Kadidra woke up from a nap that afternoon and was getting ready to cook dinner. As she passed the front door, she realized there were packages outside from Amazon. She quickly grabbed them and brought them inside, starting to open them. Kadidra hardly noticed that one had been resealed recently and didn’t think anything of it. But, as she was opening the box, she realized everyone in the house was watching her carefully so she began to get a little suspicious!! Finally, she saw the ring and looked over at Taz asking if it was real! He asked if that was a yes and she quickly asked if he had a question for her. He got down on one knee and she said yes for real!!! How cute is that?!
Fort Washington Park Engagement Session
We chose Fort Washington for Kadidra and Taz’s engagement portraits because they wanted something with a great natural backdrop and they spend a lot of time at this park. When we began planning their engagement session Kadidra immediately knew Fort Washington was the location! The session started out a bit rainy, but these two were still so relaxed and trusted me through the process. I love that they were open to using a cute little umbrella and before long, they were able to change into their second outfits. At that point, we began really exploring inside the fort – there were so many great pops of color that we played with in their photos! I seriously love how everything turned out.
Congratulations again, Kadidra and Taz! I can’t wait for your October wedding!!!
