DC Photographer: Who is behind the lens?

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Christian (she/her). I am a Washington, DC-based intimate wedding photographer. Outside of my work I am a wife and mother. I moved to the area in 2012 after graduating from THE illustrious Hampton University located in Hampton Roads Virginia also known as the REAL HU! 🙂

If I described myself in a few words I would say I am bubbly, loyal, and caring. I love and sincerely care about those around me. I love to make others laugh and I believe having a good time is good for the soul.

I have three kiddies they are 8, 4, and 2 years old. They keep me laughing and cleaning! But seriously, they keep me motivated. I would like them to see through me that anything is possible and it’s never too late to pursue a career, passion, or interest that makes your heart smile.

My husband Iyke is the best. We’ve been married for a long time and it’s the most rewarding and special relationship to me. Iyke has the purest heart and his work ethic is out of this world. I truly believe that God aligned our paths and we are meant to be on this journey together. We have a love story that you only hear in movies, seriously.

In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, watching movies, and we are a family of foodies. If I had to choose between a night out or night in give me the night out with my favorite pair of comfy heels and my forever boyfriend. DC is a great area there is always plenty to do in the area. I love to be out and about. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy a quiet night inside too but a weekend adventure is the key to my heart. I started a brunch group a few years ago and pre-covid. The group is rather large and gives me the opportunity to meet new people and

I love my alone time as well. I enjoy long solo strolls through Target cosmetic and shoe isles. I also love to turn through magazines for photography inspiration, reading podcast transcripts, I have a “greenish” thumb. I say greenish because I have had memorial services for a few of my plant babies.

I think candles are a must-have when creating a comforting space and there is literally no place like home. My house is crazy at times but the love that fills it makes all the messes, noise, and everything else worth it.

I cherish preserving memories and each of my clients become like family to me. I am honored to photograph legacies and special moments as my job. It doesn’t feel like work to me and I am grateful to have found, my thing. Lots of people ask me if I only photograph weddings and the answer is no. I also photograph events, individuals, headshots, families, and maternity.

Thank you for dropping by and getting to know ME. I pray that each day God grants you that you fill them with unforgettable moments and you experience authentic relationships from above! If you have any questions please contact me here.

Cheers to life, life love, and pursuing our wildest dreams
