I just love Saybah and Dominic. They’re both super laid back and have been great about rolling with the punches through everything the pandemic has sent their way. They decided to plan an amazing destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico… but, COVID put a huge damper on their plans. Instead of giving up over their canceled destination wedding, Saybah and Dominic chose to head to the Philadelphia courthouse’s website and selected a new wedding date. They had an intimate ceremony (seriously, just the two of them!) and are now officially married! After their official ceremony, they took a trip down to DC to celebrate on a safe little getaway and we met up to capture portraits at the American Institute of Pharmacy building!

Saybah and Dominic met while they were students at Penn State University. Although they saw each other frequently around campus, they didn’t officially meet until Dominic’s roommate introduced them. After that, they were inseparable. Saybah constantly spent time at Dominic’s basketball games and Dominic would always make time to watch movies and relax with her. Dominic says that he knew Saybah would be his wife just two months after meeting her! So to say he’d been planning their proposal and engagement for awhile is an understatement.

While they were traveling in Atlanta, the two were on a tour of the aquarium. Standing in front of the Ocean Voyager tank, Dominic asked Saybah what she would say if he asked her to marry him right now. Slightly embarrassed, she told him to stop joking and walked away. But when she turned around to see where he was, Dominic was down on his knee with the ring. With the cheers of everyone around them, Saybah said yes! It was definitely a special moment.

This year has been challenging for everyone, but I know it’s been difficult for couples who dreamed of their wedding days. I’ve been so amazed by everyone being so flexible and finding other ways to tie the knot. Despite it all, love has prevailed and I think that’s the most beautiful love story of all. Saybah and Dominic, I loved every moment of your American Institute of Pharmacy wedding portraits here in DC. It was so, so special to capture this for you and take a moment to celebrate your love story! Congratulations again!
